After removal of carbon monoxide in two stages of WGS, the amount of carbon dioxide is increased significantly. Therefore, before proceeding to ammonia converter, the major parts of carbon oxides should be removed from the stream using PSA unit or scrubbers. After such units, the last traces of oxides of carbon are removed by passing the gases over methanation catalyst. This catalyst is a nickel based catalyst, which comes in the standard oxidized or reduced and stabilized form. Kharazmi offers a high active methanation catalyst with high thermal stability and high activity. This catalyst can be used in standard methanator in ammonia and hydrogen plants.
